The 1000 Ultimate Experiences App allows iPad users to experience Lonely Planet’s top 1000 recommended experiences through beautiful images, ideo and insights from its leading travel authors.

Inspired by the bestselling Lonely Planet book called 1000 Ultimate Experiences, the app re-imagines the book reading experience as a deck of 1000 cards which users can swipe, flick and thumb their way through, bringing together the top 1000 ideas, places and activities to entertain and inspire that next trip.

Additionally, Lonely Planet’s Discover guides – a new full-colour series to help travelers take in the ‘must see’ parts of new destinations – is in development for iPad in iBook format.  Titles will include Great Britain, Italy, Spain, France and Ireland.

“The multimedia capabilities of iPad allow us to offer travellers rich imagery and video, and have given us the opportunity to reinvent travel books in a playful and tactile way.
